Hey Fencer!

It's good to hear from you! I quite enjoyed your watercolour post. Personally I would have been happy with one of the first ones but it's good to see someone put some craft into their art.

I don't know if I'll make it to 50,000 words by the end of the month, but I do know I'll have more than if I hadn't tried it.

Hey!

Glad to see the new entry, and congratulations on trying on NaNoWriMo...

I haven't tried that particular exercise (maybe I should someday), but I did try our local 3-Day Novel Writing Contest a few years back now on a Labour Day weekend. A lot of coffee, no sleep and I did manage a short novel of uncertain quality. Now you've got a whole month to do sort of the same thing... Good luck!

Hi Doug,

It's true I don't know where you're going, but I like the sound of your voice as you try to figure it out!

Keep on writing and blogging...

The thing I like about writing is that it lets you discover (sometimes!) things you didn't know you knew...

Well, although it sounds like you've had some ups and downs, a pleasure to find you back on your blog... I check once in awhile.

Hope you find your blog, or someplace else, a good outlet for your writing instinct.

All the best and welcome back!

Cool! A new post and a good photo...

I think it's great your partner just went ahead and bought a boat like that. Don't know much about sailing, wish I did, but it sounds like you're embarked on a worthwhile project.

Hi Doug,

Just thinking of the native people of BC, who are only now beginning to reassert themselves after the typical contact period and aftermath laid them low, from smallpox to residential schools to Ronald McDonald.

Hi BL

It is so good to hear from you again! There is nothing like a daft tradition to really get me excited.

Although you wouldn't know it from my loud silence of late my thoughts have been with you. As I'm sure have all your friends out here!

My favorite line from that story is this: "Two men were seen running from the blaze, one of whom was disguised as Father Christmas, said police." xo, BL

Hi, Doug,

I like both your musings and your photography. I assume your job is more technical and logical, and photography offers a more creative dimension. Not that computers and problem solving aren't creative, nor that photography isn't technical. But your photos are in the natural world and they help us to see that world. Good work!

Cheers, Neil
